Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, testing, and maintaining marine vessels and offshore structures.
  • Conduct research on ship stability, hydrodynamics, and fuel efficiency.
  • Work with teams to improve propulsion systems, hull design, and navigation systems.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic marine systems.
  • Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, blueprints, and engineering documentation.
  • Collaborate on projects involving renewable energy and sustainable marine technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0 to 6 months of experience (Internships in shipbuilding, offshore engineering, or naval architecture preferred).
  • Basic understanding of ship structures, propulsion systems, and fluid dynamics.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Rhino) for marine design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred (But Not Mandatory) Skills

  • Familiarity with maritime regulations (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL).
  • Exposure to computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and structural analysis (FEA).
  • Understanding of corrosion prevention, materials science, and marine coatings.
  • Knowledge of engine performance, fuel efficiency, and automation in ships.
